Project Description

Weatherby’s in Grand Lake Stream, Maine

New Website and Online Booking Tool

Maine Fishing and Hunting Lodge

One of the oldest and most famous sporting lodges in the country, Weatherby’s in Grand Lake Stream, Maine, contacted us to build them a new website. By keeping the dark green background and using several signature images, our idea was to make the transition from old website to new, easily identifiable to guests.

The new design is packed with features such as a sticky header menu, big beautiful scrolling images, a blog, weather forecast for the lodge, navigation breadcrumbs and site search. The new site is expandable. When ready, the site can feature a store front for fly shop sales and an events calendar.

Weatherby’s new website is responsive and mobile friendly. It looks beautiful on a tablet, a phone, a laptop or an HD television.

From Weatherby’s YouTube Channel, we embedded into the website videos of the lodge, of fishing and of hunting in Maine.

In the website footer, we added links to Weatherby’s Facebook page, Twitter account, Google+ page, YouTube Channel and email.

The site is built on the WordPress platform. Website updates and changes are easy for owner, Jeff McEvoy. With a few easy clicks, he can update rates and dates in house.

With the website complete, we configured CheckFront to accept online reservations for Weatherby’s. We input cabin information, rates, season, packages, images and video. After setup, cost for the online reservation system is just $50 per month with CheckFront. CheckFront integrates with Google Analytics, Google Adwords, numerous payment gateways, Quickbooks Online, TripAdvisor TripConnect, Constant Contact and more. With CheckFront, tracking reservations, staying in touch with guests and accounting is a snap.

We had text to work with on this project from the previous website. That helped us turn around this website and online booking tool project in just 2 months. Weatherby’s new website is ready for the booking season that begins after the New Year.
